Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjay Jaju Directs Enhanced Measures for Comfortable Metro Travel at HMRL Board Meeting

The State Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjay Jaju, has directed that appropriate measures be taken to ensure that Metro Rail passengers reach their destinations safely, easily, and comfortably.

For the first time, Mr. Sanjay Jaju, as Chairman of the HMRL Board of Directors, reviewed the development of Metro Rail. The Board of Directors meeting was held on July 31st at the TG Secretariat under his chairmanship.

He suggested that a Common mobility ticketing system be implemented across all public transport services such as Metro and RTC, enabling passengers to travel on a single ticket. He instructed that discussions be held with TGSRTC to develop a common mobile application. He also directed officials to explore options for introducing daily, weekly and monthly passes for Metro passengers.

The meeting discussed the latest progress on Phase I take over and Land acquisition and utility shifting status for Phase II of the Metro project. He also reviewed about the status of approvals for Metro phase-2. The Chief Secretary instructed officials to take necessary steps to procure additional coaches at the earliest.

The meeting was attended by Board Directors including Special Chief Secretary of Metropolitan Area & Urban Development Mr. Jayesh Ranjan, Special Chief Secretary TR&B Mr. Vikas Raj, DGP (Law & Order) Mr. Mahesh M. Bhagwat, Special Secretary, Finance Department Ms. Sikta Patnaik, Managing Director of Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Works & Sewerage Board Mr. K. Ashok Reddy, HMRL Managing Director Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmed, Additional Managing Director Mr. B. Ajith Reddy, and Joint Managing Director Mr. Shivendra Pratap.
