Instructions to speed up Old City Metro corridor expansion works;
Chief Secretary traveled in Metro Rail

Telangana State Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjay Jaju has directed officials to immediately
introduce a joint pass for Metro Rail and RTC bus travel in Hyderabad. He instructed Metro
and RTC officials to make the necessary arrangements to issue Monthly and Daily passes in a
manner that ensures convenience for the public. Today, the Chief Secretary held a
coordination meeting at the Begumpet Metro Rail Bhavan with representatives from HMRL,
TGSRTC, the Electricity Department, and the Hyderabad Metro Water Works Department.
HMRL MD Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmad, Additional MD Mr. B.Ajith Reddy, and Joint MD Mr. Shivendra
Pratap briefed him on the various measures undertaken so far during the first and second
phases of the Hyderabad Metro. The Chief Secretary inquired about the current status of
road widening works for the Old City Metro corridor. Officials explained the present stage of
the tender process for appointing a General Consultant. The Chief Secretary directed that the
expansion works in 7.5 Km Old City corridor be expedited and that the Metro project
activities commence swiftly. Officials from L&T Hyderabad Metro Rail and TGSRTC clarified
that they are technically prepared to issue a joint pass for Metro and RTC passengers and
have finalized arrangements for its implementation at any time. The Chief Secretary directed
that the joint fare structure be finalized quickly and the pass system implemented
immediately. Attendees at the meeting included Hyderabad Metro Water Works MD Mr. K.
Ashok Reddy, Metro Rail Chief Electrical Engineer Mr. DVS Raju, CSTE Mr. Swapna Kumar Das,
Chief Project Manager Mr. Anand Mohan, Chief Engineer Sri Bhaskar Reddy GM (Finance) Mr.
Suryaprakasam, and other senior officials.

Chief Secretary traveled on the Metro Rail

Chief Secretary Mr. Sanjay Jaju traveled by Metro Rail today from Begumpet to Paradise,
accompanied by MD Mr. Sarfaraz Ahmad and Additional MD Mr. B.Ajith Reddy. He inspected
the commercial complexes and parking areas at the stations and offered suggestions for their
further development. The Chief Secretary also inspected the elevated corridors being
constructed by the HMDA on NH-44.
