As Hyderabad navigates a temporary disruption in public transport due to RTC strike, Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has moved swiftly to ensure that the city keeps moving without interruption. In coordination with L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (LTMRHL), the metro network has significantly ramped up its services to support citizens during this period.
At the heart of this initiative is a clear objective: minimize inconvenience and provide reliable mobility to commuters across the city.
Maximum Frequency, All Day
In a notable operational shift, Hyderabad Metro will now run 56 trains throughout the day, covering both peak and non-peak hours. This is a step up from regular weekday operations, where the same number of trains is typically limited to peak hours only.
Under normal conditions:
- 56 trains operate during peak hours between 8:00 AM to 10:30 AM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM
- During non-peak hours, operations reduce to 44 trains
However, in response to current commuter needs, maximum capacity will now be maintained across all hours, ensuring better availability and reduced waiting times.
Improved Frequency Across Key Corridors
Commuters can expect more frequent services across major routes:
- Miyapur to LB Nagar corridor (C1): Every 4 minutes 20 seconds
- Nagole to Raidurg corridor (C3): Every 3 minutes 40 seconds
This enhanced frequency ensures smoother passenger flow and helps manage increased demand efficiently.
More Support on the Way
In addition to increasing train frequency, further steps are being explored to improve commuter convenience. At the request of HMRL, LTMRHL is currently examining the possibility of extending the last metro service beyond 11:00 PM, offering greater flexibility for late evening travel.
A Commitment to the City
This proactive response highlights Hyderabad Metro’s role as a dependable backbone of the city’s public transport system. By adapting quickly and scaling operations, the metro continues to support the daily lives of thousands of commuters.
In times when the city needs it the most, Hyderabad Metro is not just running trains, it is keeping Hyderabad connected, moving, and resilient.
