The Covid-19 pandemic has left a bitter experience this year, in 2020 and despite the services being closed for few months, Hyderabad Metro is now back on track with the services resuming in a phase wise manner. Travelling through Hyderabad Metro has now become a new way of life in the city.
HMRL is indeed an outstanding infrastructure project, conceived for rapid connectivity in Hyderabad, as a modern public transport system. The HMRL project is also at the forefront of pathbreaking Multi-modal connectivity. This involves connecting the Hyderabad Metro rail with other transport hubs and transport modes in the city for seamless connectivity as well as linking those areas located at a slight distance from the metro stations.
The metro rail project offers effective integration and interchange with the existing major rail terminals namely at Nampally, Secunderabad and Begumpet. For instance, commuters who need to reach Secunderabad railway station can directly access station as the Metro station here connects the main railway station through skywalk.
An easy integration & interchange is also being facilitated with the existing bus stations and terminuses located at Miyapur, MGBS, Dilsukhnagar, Jubilee Bus Station, Koti and Rathifile. Here, commuters would be able to easily switch between these bus stations and the adjacent metro stations. The Hyderabad Metro rail also offers an effective link with the MMTS services at stations such like Bharatnagar, Lakdikapul, Begumpet, Khairatabad and Malakpet so that commuters can easily switch between these MMTS stations and the close by Metro stations. Due to the pandemic, the MMTS services are yet to resume, after the lockdown imposed in March 2020.
Effective connectivity to MMTS stations, bus terminuses and also major railway terminals is a major advantage when you travel with Hyderabad Metro. With unique Multi-modal connectivity through metro rail project, Hyderabad is witnessing the operations of a world-class public transport system, for the first time ever. Moreover, there are designated points at metro stations for the public transport buses and cabs to pick up or drop commuters, which have become quite useful for commuters availing metro rail services.
